A Sidelink-Aided Approach for Secure Multicast Service Delivery: From Human-Oriented Multimedia Traffic to Machine Type Communications

نویسندگان

چکیده

To date, group-oriented communications have been mainly exploited for delivering multimedia services in human-oriented while, future fifth generation (5G) cellular networks, objects will be the main target. Internet of Things (IoT) undoubtedly play a key role 5G wherein massive machine-type (mMTC) feature use case as crucial challenging since IoT connections are predicted to grow heavily next future. boost capacity and energy efficiency, network can leverage device-to-device (D2D) which recognized an effective offloading technique. This is achieved thanks fact that, legacy D2D communications, data directly sent from one device another, avoiding crossing network. Obviously, distributed nature such communication paradigm inherent broadcast wireless channel make it necessary think how secure so called "sidelink" transmissions. work proposes protocol efficient reliable management multicast 5G-oriented scenario, security requirement met. The proposed tailored Narrowband (NB-IoT) makes with aim improving efficiency optimizing resource utilization. In addition, cyber social trustworthiness mechanisms communications.

Multi-layer key management for secure multimedia multicast communications

An important application of multicasting is group-oriented multimedia communication, such as video-on-demand and video conferencing. Before these services can be successfully deployed, security infrastructures must be developed to ensure access control to multicast content. In this paper, we present a multi-group key management scheme tailored to multimedia multicast services that distribute da...

Traffic Models for Machine Type Communications

Machine-to-machine (M2M) or Machine-type Communication (MTC) is expected to significantly increase in future wireless networks. It exhibits considerably different traffic patterns than human-type communication, thus, claims for new traffic models and simulation scenarios. The challenge in designing such models is not only to accurately capture the behavior of single MTC devices but also to hand...

Secure machine-type communications in LTE networks

With a great variety of potential applications, machine-type communications (MTC) is gaining a tremendous interest from mobile network operators and research groups. MTC is standardized by the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), which has been regarded as the promising solution facilitating machine-to-machine communications. In the latest standard, 3GPP proposes a novel architecture for ...
